PETRA conducts research and development of device and networking technology for new generation by utilizing photonics electronics convergence technology.
- Technology Development of High Efficiency and High Speed Processing Distributed Computing System using Heterogenous Material Integrated Optoelectronics
We target realizing high-speed distributed computing that enables computing processing with low transmission energy and sharing computing resources according to the situation among computing bases that are regionally separated and interconnected to each other.
More specifically, in order to eliminate the transmission bottleneck of server-to-server connections, we are developing 10-Tbps-class photonic transceiver technology with low-power consumption (<10 pJ/bit), which contains the photonic integrated circuit using heterogeneous semiconductor direct bonding technology, and multi-degree elastic network architecture.- Research period:From Jul. 2021 to Mar. 2026
